HI, I’M KIM

I’m a natural-light photographer based in Hamilton, New Zealand. My love for photography started with a fascination for family connection. The quiet, messy, beautiful moments that make life real.

Along the way, I studied midwifery, which gave me a deeper understanding of pregnancy and birth, and an even greater appreciation for the fleeting moments that often go unnoticed but mean the most. As a mum to three children, I’ve learned how fast time flies and why it’s so important to be in the frame as well as behind the camera.

Now, I’m excited to introduce Haven Studios — the new home for everything I do. Formerly Kimberly Joy Photography, it’s still me behind the lens, with the same love for capturing real, raw moments. The new name reflects what I want every session to feel like: a haven, a place where you feel comfortable, supported and truly seen.

Whether it’s a newborn in the studio, a family at home, or a couple on their wedding day, my sessions are relaxed and natural. I focus on the moments that matter most, the connections that make your story yours.

Our newborn, maternity, and family sessions are already here, and wedding photography will be coming soon under Haven Weddings — the same care, the same photographer, just a dedicated space for each special chapter.
